How to make “watermelon lanterns” with masks

The watermelon lantern is small, so the amount of materials is not much, just use the mask you usually wear.

  1. Pull out the metal strips of the nose clip of the mask (four to five metal strips) to make a watermelon frame;
  2. The layer of mask cotton (the thinner layer) first surrounds the “watermelon piece”, and then cuts out the required amount;
  3. Put the lamp beads into the watermelon frame, and then glue the mask cotton layer together;
  4. Layer the paper towels and then peel them apart. Use a few layers of watered white latex to give a slight texture effect;
  5. After it dries, just apply the color. (For watercolor paint or other paints, it is recommended to test the color elsewhere before applying it officially.) The drying time should be longer.

Notes:

A: Lamp beads are the kind of light-emitting diodes that need to be connected first for later use. However, this may not be the best solution. If you find a better way, please share it with us.

B: Be sure to dry it before applying color, because it will smear when wet and the shape will be destroyed.
